It's still Christmas in the city of Stoke-on-Trent. It's been Christmas every day for many years. Decorations have been left on a derelict building: Santa has been abandoned, his beard getting greener with each passing year, a neon Merry Christmas sign is only ever illuminated by sunshine. Children may wish it could be Christmas everyday but in North Staffordshire it's ‘Always Christmas in Stoke’.

‘Always Christmas in Stoke’ has been selected for the 204th Annual Exhibition of The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours at The Mall Galleries, The Mall, London, SW1, from 6th to 16th April, 10am to 5pm.

At the Private View evening for the RWS contemporary watercolour competition it was announced that ‘Mischief Makers’ had been chosen as a Winsor & Newton prize winner.

‘I’m delighted to be exhibited in the 2015 open and thrilled to have received such recognition.’

You can still catch the exhibition at the Bankside Gallery, London until 18th March.

The RI 203rd Exhibition continues to promote the art of water colour in Britain. The Annual Open Exhibition displays non-members’ work alongside that of RI members. This year I’m exhibiting ‘Grand Mal’ a painting of a crane (crâne; cranium). It’s a challenging subject.

25th March – 11th April, 2015. 10.00 am – 5.00 pm, Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1.
