I’m honoured to have ‘Multi-Storey’ chosen for the Winsor & Newton Award at the 206th RI Exhibition. I enjoyed meeting fellow artists and guests at the Private View, it’s always a joy to exchange thoughts about our latest work.

The exhibition continues at the Mall Galleries, London until the 21st April 2018.

Multi-Storey

“As a painter sometimes the description and meanings of the paintings can get too important. ‘Multi-Storey’ is a play on words, it could just as easily be called ‘Multi-Story’. Within the car park there are lots of stories and no stories, it’s up to the viewer to imagine the chapters.”

I’m delighted to be selected as a Candidate for Membership of the RI Painters in Water Colours. I’ve got four paintings in the 206th Exhibition and have submitted a portfolio of unframed work, a sketchbook and additional material.

The RI exhibition is really worth a visit to The Mall Galleries, but you can also view this year’s selection here

The Grosvenor Museum and Art Gallery in Chester has an exhibition of paintings from their collection. Another chance to see 'The Karlskirche Stairway to Heaven’ - it's the painting they acquired for their permanent collection last year. It’s also an opportunity to see Modern Watercolours from the Grosvenor store of paintings.

The RBSA Members and Associates Exhibition 3rd December to 24th December.

This year I’m exhibiting two paintings: ‘Festival’ and ‘Moorlands’. Both paintings present found shards of ceramic, the ‘Art of the Potteries Past’. I’ve painted the broken fragments onto a birch wood palette. Found objects from Stoke on Trent, a decorative connection to our heritage.

The RI 203rd Exhibition continues to promote the art of water colour in Britain. The Annual Open Exhibition displays non-members’ work alongside that of RI members. This year I’m exhibiting ‘Grand Mal’ a painting of a crane (crâne; cranium). It’s a challenging subject.

25th March – 11th April, 2015. 10.00 am – 5.00 pm, Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1.
