I attended the Private View of the Wirral Exhibition and was saddened to hear the news that artist and Society Treasurer David Hillhouse had died. David was a tireless campaigner for the Wirral Society of Arts and as well as being a superb artist in his own right he had the ability to nurture and encourage others to fulfil their individual talents.

David has been a champion of my work for a number of years and will be greatly missed by myself and fellow artists.

The Wirral Society of Arts Annual Exhibition opens to the public 14th September to 10th October 2013, Tuesday-Sunday 10.00-5.00pm at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum, Birkenhead, Merseyside CH45 4UE

A painting has been selected from a record number of entries to appear alongside work by some of Britain’s leading water colour painters. The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours Annual Exhibition will be on display at the Mall Galleries near Trafalgar Square between 5th-18th April 2013, 10.00am – 5.00pm daily.

Founded in 1831 the RI was established to exhibit the best of progressive watercolours, showing a diversity of styles and techniques, from traditional uses of the medium to the more experimental and innovative paintings.
