This year for the first time at the RBSA photography as a medium is acceptable in this popular exhibition. It's a 'trial event' following the AGM decision to accept photography into the Open. The exhibition was opened by Jonnie Turpie, High Sheriff of the West Midlands and Founder Director of Maverick Films. I'll be exhibiting a watercolour completed last year.

The RBSA Members and Associates Exhibition 3rd December to 24th December.

This year I’m exhibiting two paintings: ‘Festival’ and ‘Moorlands’. Both paintings present found shards of ceramic, the ‘Art of the Potteries Past’. I’ve painted the broken fragments onto a birch wood palette. Found objects from Stoke on Trent, a decorative connection to our heritage.

The ‘Karlskirche Stairway to Heaven’ has been awarded Highly Commended at the Grosvenor Museums 11th Open Art Exhibition in Chester. I’m particularly honoured because Peter Boughton FSA, Keeper of Art, has informed me that the Grosvenor has decided to purchase the painting for their permanent collection. I’m so pleased that ‘Karlskirche’ has found such an appreciative home.

You can see ‘Karlskirche Stairway to Heaven’ and an excellent selection of art at the Grosvenor Museum until 17th June 2015, 27, Grosvenor Street, Chester, CH1 2DD.

The RI 203rd Exhibition continues to promote the art of water colour in Britain. The Annual Open Exhibition displays non-members’ work alongside that of RI members. This year I’m exhibiting ‘Grand Mal’ a painting of a crane (crâne; cranium). It’s a challenging subject.

25th March – 11th April, 2015. 10.00 am – 5.00 pm, Mall Galleries, The Mall, London SW1.
